HISTORICAL INFORMATION ABOUT FORMER OFFICE BUILDING
The beautiful corner office building located at 799 Broadway served as my office, 2003-2018. This building was designed in 1851 by James Renwick, Jr., the architect also responsible for the design of St. Patrick's Cathedral and Grace Church. For years it was known as the St. Denis Hotel. Many well known historical figures including Mark Twain, Sarah Bernhardt, Chester A. Arthur, Colonel William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, and General Ulysses S. Grant stayed there. The first demonstration of the telephone to New Yorkers by Alexander Graham Bell also took place there. This historic building has now been demolished to make way for a new office structure.
